It’s so surprising. I entered and the television people caught me for an interview asking if I was confident of winning, and I said, we have been nominated for two categories and we expect to win both. And to my surprise, they said that we had just won. It was simply great to hear that.

Best pop album
And the winner is Tanha Dil Atul Churamani (Virgin Records):
It’s great. Virgin Records has been around for two years and we got two awards. It’s simply great.

Shaan:
It’s quite exciting. I just managed to enter the venue and find a found a seat for myself, and these people called out my name for the award.
I am thrilled.

Best male pop artist
And the winner is Hariharan - Kaash :
I am very happy to get the award. The album has won two awards and that feels great. Actually I turned up a little late, but it was great to know that
I won.

Best female pop artist
And the winner is Alka Yagnik - Kaash - Dil Le Gaya Ajnabi:
I feel great, especially because this is my first award in the
non-film category, and also because I worked with my brother for this album.

Best music video
And the winner is Man Ke Manjeere Sujit Sircar (director):
I feel great. Our efforts have been appreciated.
I am thankful to Screen for this award. It’s also the hard work of Shantanu Moitra, the composer, and of course, Shubha Mudgal, that have been appreciated. This song is woman-oriented. The moment I heard it, I got an idea as to how to go about the video, and then there was the fabulous Mita Vashishth who did a great job.
