Fighting cancer with music

: The Cancer Aid and Research Foundation (CARF) commemorated their eighth Foundation Day on June 20 in Mumbai and distributed cheques to the needy and poor cancer patients for their treatments in various hospitals. Donors who have donated more than one lakh each were felicitated. Also five staff awards for the best performance throughout the year were distributed. Approximately 400 cancer patients from different parts of the country were present for the Foundation Day with their relatives. Till date, more than 3,400 patients have benefitted.

The formal function was followed by a musical extravaganza wherein noted playback and pop singer Vaishali Samant performed, while Pehchaan Kaun? fame stand-up comedian Naveen Prabhakar kept the audience in splits.
