: VIBGYOR, India’s first colour-based musical fusion band conceptualised and composed by eminent violinist Ratish Tagde performed their first show in Mumbai on June 13. The show is to mark World Music Day (June 20) and the VIBGYOR team dreams of spreading peace through their colourful music. The band witnessed avid music lovers who attended this first-ever fusion show. VIBGYOR is based on the seven chakras of the human body and is linked to the seven colours of the rainbow. It has a inter-relation between music and colours, relieves stress and is therapeutic.

The band presented numbers on Sufi, Hindustani classical, bhajan, fusion of mridangam and tabla and violins related to the personality of colours. The band members Ratish Tagde, Rakesh Chaurasia, Runa Rizvi, Rahul Deshpande, Vijay Ghate, Mukul Dongre, Shridhar Parthasarathy and Atul Raninga (Key- boards) received standing ovations for the 90-minutes journey.

Says Ratish Tagde, “The chakras have distinct colours and meaning like spiritual attainment, infinity, divinity, harmony, passion, balance, growth and good health, energy and wisdom, passion, energy, vibrancy and success. Therefore, we designed a thematic concert, which will spread the colours of peace through music that will touch everyone’s hearts. We are sure our music will heal the world.”
