: Fazil, the maker of many family hits, now gives us Moz And Cat, a film that entertains us in the first half and confuses and leaves the audience exhausted in the second half. Moz.D.Samuel (Dileep) and Tessy (Baby Niveditha) live by robbing and cheating people. Though Tessy is not related to Moz, he has brought her up like a father. Things take a new turn for Moz and Tessy when a girl, Nandana (Ashwathy Ashok) walks into their lives. And then they come across Sumesh (Rahman), Nandana’s brother, who behaves rather strangely. In the meantime, Panackal Das (Manoj.K.Jayan), a powerful goon, wants Moz to bring Nandana to him, for which he offers a big amount. All this makes for the plot of Moz And Cat. Though things fare well in the first half, the second half leaves the audience baffled.

Technical Expertise
Fazil is well in command of things as a director. But as a writer, he fails to impress post-interval. The way he introduces twists in the plot post-interval leaves the audience confused. Things go smooth in the first half, which leads us to expect the second half to be absorbing and interesting. But, sadly enough, it turns out to be a damp squib. Dileep is his usual self as Moz, while Baby Nivedhitha is good as Tessy. Debutante Ashwathy is also good as Nandana. The rest of the cast are all strictly okay. Music, technical aspects etc jell with the theme and the mood, but it’s the confusion about the overall mood that’s to be mentioned. It’s rather confusing and hence whatever is good about Moz And Cat is lost in this maze.
Verdict
One star for Dileep, for the art direction and songs.
