The Hydra Open-Air Cinema UAE 2008, a collaboration between entertainment major Swiss Open-Air Concept and Hydra Properties, a UAE real estate player, will run for 12 days each in the two emirates.
The event will feature large-scale Open-Air Cinema, a festival of international cuisine and technology related shows.
"Swiss Open-Air Concept has conducted a thorough study of demographics involved in the movie market and the movies that will be shown will reflect different tastes of people as well as suit the outdoor movie experience," CEO of Hydra
Properties Sulaiman Al Fahim told Gulf News. "By screening a Bollywood movie and an Arabic film apart from Hollywood blockbusters at each of the venues, the event will cater to all segments of the UAE's multi-cultural population. We are sure that this will be a grand success and the fact that we have a three-year deal with Swiss Open-Air Concept should reflect our confidence in this venture," he added.
The open-air cinema, stretched over 12 nights, will entertain an estimated crowd of 2,000 people a night in the two cosmopolitan cities and will use 32-speaker digital surround sound system for the effect. International cuisine with pre-movie entertainment and a special celebrity night are also on the cards.
