Judging talent
Amrita Singh is back in action as a judge on a reality show Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket that will be aired on 9X. The other judges on the show include Shabana Azmi and Mahesh Manjrekar. Amrita was last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Kkavyanjali and now is back in her first reality show. “I agreed to be a part of the show because I have immense respect for Ekta. When she offered me the show I liked the concept. Moreover I really like the idea of promoting talent and encouraging all the participants. I would like to add new people to our film fraternity,” grins the actress. Judging a reality show is no easy task because of the responsibility that comes along with it. Says Amrita, “Not everybody takes your comments in the right sense and sometimes even constructive criticism goes wrong. I don’t want to pull down anyone; instead I want to encourage everyone to perform better.” Despite her character from Kkavyanjali becoming a huge hit she hasn’t taken up any other soaps. “Television is really tiring and it demands a lot of time. At the moment I am busy with this show and have no time for anything else,” she quips.
Dominating
Rakhi Sawant’s boyfriend Abhishek who is a contestant on Ek Se Badhkar Ek is trying to prove he is the best dancer. Nothing wrong with that but apparently he is so obsessed with the idea that he spends all his time rehearsing for it. So much so that he practices six hours continuously. In the process, other participants don’t get the floor to practice in their scheduled time. Sometimes he even stops the other participant mid-way, inserts his songs’ CD and starts practising for his next performance. Others obviously feel irritated but there is nothing they can do about it. Abhishek on the other hand is defending his actions by saying that he needs at least six hours of practice everyday. Actors have gone on board saying that Abhishek behaves as if he is a super star with just one show on… and in fact stars who are running pole to pole doing daily soaps should be given flexible timings and not him. When contacted Sayantani stated that she is only interested in practising for two hours which is her scheduled time and “I don’t appreciate if somebody else is practising. However, I am not bothered what happens before or after that.”
Ravi offers Sayantani a Bhojpuri film
Bhojpuri superstar, Ravi Kishan, who is anchoring Ek Se Badhkar Ek is so impressed by the participants of this show, that he is planning to take some of them in his forthcoming production. Ravi has approached Shayantani Ghosh to feature in his next film Bhagwat - a crime thriller. Ravi is sure that her “beautiful face and amazing talent will be lapped up by Bhojpuri audience”. But Sayantani says it is too early to talk about it.
Ravi is also considering the likes of Jasveer Kaur, Kushaal Punjabi and Amrapali while he wants either Abhishek or Raja to do a special appearance in his film.
