Investment banker, mountaineer, marathon runner and screenwriter - Smita Jain dons many hats. And soon she’s going to be a published author. An economist and an MBA by training, Smita Jain began her career as an investment banker. She worked at analysing equities as well as in institutional (mutual funds) sales. And then at the peak of her career, she gave it up to pursue two lifetime passions - films and writing. She combined the two into screenwriting. She has, since then, written numerous TV serials that include Remix, India Calling, Bhoot.com and Sun Yaar Chill Maar. Now, based on her experiences in the industry, Smita has penned a book Krishnaa Konfessions. Says Smita, “The characters are drawn from real life and every character exists. The main protagonist is called Priya who later changes her name to Krishnaa, which reflects the dominance of the K factor in the industy,” informs the writer. The book hits the stands in June.

Before you jump to a conclusions about who we are referring to, it is the cute child artiste Krish who has the entire unit dancing to his tunes, specially Sameer who plays his on-screen father and Abir who plays his chacha. Both of them are so fond of all the three kids in the serial, that they regularly treat them with chocolates and ice-creams. Yummy!
Makarand to play Maharishi Vyas
The latest actor to be roped in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat for 9X is Makarand Deshpande, according to sources. He is being pencilled in to play Maharashi Vyas. Kiran Karmarkar will be playing Shantanu, Bheeshma’s father while Ram Kapoor is all set to be Drithirashtra and Rakshanda Khan is Amber. Draupadi is yet to be finalised
