Pune, March 12: : Another land deal of Amitabh Bachchan is in news raising a question mark on his “farmer status”. The agriculture land that he has “donated” in Barbanki district in Uttar Pradesh seems to have cast a shadow on his land at Maval taluka of Pune district. To decide the status, sub-divisional officer Sanjaysinh Chavan has written to Bachchan to either present himself or his lawyer with the Allahabad High Court details in Pune on March 24 to decide the land status in Pale village in the district.

Recently, the controversy over the possession of land in Barabanki by the actor was raised again with the Uttar Pradesh government moving the Supreme Court alleging glaring irregularity in the revenue records. The state Government has challenged the Allahabad High Court order, which gave a clean chit to Amitabh Bachchan in the Barabanki land deal, which has brought the lands Big B possesses under scrutiny again.

Bachchan had earlier sent a two-page letter to Pune Divisional Commissioner Nitin Kareer on July 19 last year, where he had expressed his desire to donate the agricultural land in Maval taluka and at Barbanki in Uttar Pradesh.

With the details not available, the sub-divisional officer SDO Maval, Sanjaysinh Chavan has sent a letter to Big B on March 4 for the necessary clarifications.

“We have written to him to give us the High Court orders. It’s only after going through these orders that we can take a decision on the land he has ‘donated’ in Maval taluka,” he told The Indian Express.

He had even earlier sent a letter to the additional collector Barabanki requesting him to send the orders, but there was no reply. “We had sent the letter on December 28 and a reminder letter thereafter. However, the officers have not got back to us,” Chavan said.
