: 7th Channel Communications’ Manickam Narayanan is coming up with the big budget socio-mythological Indralogathil Na. Azhagappan starring ace comedy hero Vadivelu in a triple role as Azhagappan, Lord Indra and Yama. It is directed by Thambi Ramaiah. Narayanan says that it is “the most expensive mythological in thirty years. After the hugely successful Kamal Haasan starrer Vettayadu Vilayaadu, I have decided to make only blockbusters. When Ramaiah narrated the story I felt here is the subject I have been looking for. The theme is novel and has large canvas as it spreads over three different zones - the Earth, the Heaven or Indraloka and the Hell or Yamaloka as we call it. Vadivelu is such an excellent actor that he could bring variance in body language and diction for each one of the roles he played in the movie. Art director Thota Tharani has created such authentic looking sets that one wonders whether we are really viewing an Indralok and Yamalok. His eye for details is amazing. Cinematographer Gopinath compliments his work and I am fortunate to get such talented and dedicated experts.”
The music is another major asset. Sabesh-Murali’s music rocks in the five songs and a couple of bit songs. One of the songs is shot on Vadivelu and Shreya who makes a guest appearance,” said Narayanan. He is such an uncompromising producer that just for a passing shot in a song sequence he sent his unit to Badrinath to get the required block. “My idea is to create such an impact that henceforth whenever some one makes a film in this genre my film should be the benchmark,” says the unassuming producer.
He has one more dream too, to remake the film in Hindi. “It is too early to talk about it. But I indeed have such plans. And the actor that comes to my mind is Saif Ali Khan. He has such a body language and timing for comedy that he can carry those three roles with ease,” opines Manickam Narayanan.
