The musical evening ‘Sirf Muzic’ by Music Asia held at the Andheri
Sports Complex, in Mumbai, would have passed on for a below-average event,
had it not been for DJ Akbar Sami and Shaan. Gursewak Mann, Harbhajan
Mann, Mika and Bela were the other performers. Harbhajan Mann did the
old sing-along trick (actually it gave a feeling of a live double track
effect). People expected some relief when Bela appeared, but she couldn’t
create much of an impact. The undisputed star of the evening was Shaan.
He entertained with a good many numbers from his albums. The dancers too
deserved credit for doing their job well. Was there an anchor for the
show? Yes, Divya Dutta did appear on the stage a couple of times to address
a small crowd that had gathered to watch the show.
