A
pre-release function for Tips’ film Kya Kehna was held on May
9, in Mumbai. The film, which is touted to have a bold subject,
will be released on May 19. Directed by Kundan Shah, it has Saif
Ali Khan, Chandrachur Singh, Preity Zinta, Anupam Kher and Farida
Jalal in the cast. Rajesh Roshan has composed the music while Majrooh
Sultanpuri has written the lyrics.
At the function, songs were screened, followed by a Q & A session
with the cast and the producers Ramesh and Kumar Taurani, and director
Kundan Shah. Of the cast, only Preity Zinta, Anupam Kher and Farida
Jalal were present. The heroes Saif Ali Khan and Chandrachur Singh
were conspicuous by their absence.
Speaking on the occasion, Zinta said the film had given her a new
meaning as an actress. Honey Irani, who has written the film, was
all praise for the producers. She said that when she approached
Ramesh Taurani with the script, which she termed as "different,"
he readily agreed to produce the film. Irani added that this was
rare, because producers usually look at the commercial viability
of a project, while Ramesh and Kumar Taurani went for the creative
aspect and content.
Another preview function was organised in Delhi. The film personalities
who graced both the functions included choreographer Farah Khan,
producer Sajid Nadiadwala, Sonu Nigam, lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri,
Rajesh Roshan, Pahlaj Nihalani, David Dhawan, Vashu Bhagnani and
Alka Yagnik.
