Ruby to make her own chat show
This leggy Canada Miss India, hit Mumbai and quietly made an impact with some spunky vjing. Then she regaled celebrity guests on her own show,Planet Ruby. But like all good things, Ruby Bhatia’s on-going romance with Channel(V) has come to an end. She has finally broken free of the Channel (V). Speculations are rife that she would follow her predecessors to MTV, but we know for sure that the lady has something else on her mind. Ruby is planning to produce a chat-show for a private channel. It has been on her mind for some time now. Don’t be surprised then if you see good ole Ruby pushing a microphone under people’s noses, soliciting their opinion on any issue under the sun. Funky she was, spunky she remains, with or without Channel (V).

Goa goof-up
If the heat in Mumbai, has become unbearable, wait till you hear what the cast of Yeh Hai Raaz had to go through in Goa. The land of sea, sun and sand wasn’t exactly the paradise that they thought it would be. As Zarine Mehta, producer of the show, found out from their frantic SOS calls from Goa,”They all sounded pretty sea-sick,” she said. The cast of Yeh Hai Raaz, we guess could not beat the heat any which way, be it Mumbai or Goa.

Taking a dip
What’s Renuka Shahane of the famous 32-intact dazzler up to these days? Well, Renuka's decided its time to relax. She’s decided to do things that she never had time to do when she was busy shooting day in and day out. Now she is able to devote ample time to her first love, theatre. She’s catching up with all her reading. Something she hasn’t had the nerve to undertake so far is swimming. But she is keen to get rid of her hydro-phobia too. “I have to get over it cause I really want to learn swimming,” she insists. Wait and watch Renuka turning into a sizzling water-babe.

The kiss that created a stir
Karan Shah, the nephew of Tina Ambani, seems desperate to make a comeback atleast on the small screen. How else do you explain a never ending kiss between him and Sumukhi Pendse in his latest comedy show, Just... No Problem? The much publicised first-ever-kissing scene on the TV featuring Seema Kapoor and Parmeet Sethi had broken the unwritten taboos. Now Karan's determined to wipe out all memory of that kiss with this one. He defends his raunchy, bawdy comedy by insisting that it's a “mature, emotional, is slightly naughty comedy.” To be aired at 10.30 pm on Zee, every Friday from May 15, watch out for this “adult comedy” Mr Navalkar.

Mahayagya completes a year’s run
Vimla Pandey and Chhote Thakur of Mahayagya have become as popular as their real life counterparts, Jayalalitha and Laloo Prasad Yadav. Maha-yagya, the much-appreciated popular political serial on Sony completed a successful 12-month run recently. Writer-director, Anil Chowdhury asserts that they have tried to express their sincere desire for a social change not only through their serial but also in many other ways. "Like on August 15, 1997, 45 members of our unit donated their eyes,” he informs. This saga of struggle for power looks all set for a long reign. Will Vimla Pandey become a deputy minister or will Chhote Thakur make her bite the dust? To find that out, stay tuned to Sony at 10 pm every Thursday.
