NASSER COMMITTED TO MEANINGFUL CINEMA Nasser may be an accomplished actor who has proved his versatility both with his comic timing in films like Sapnay and Chachi 420, and as a villain in numerous films. But people are puzzled as to why Nasser who thrived in the box-office masala, should opt to turn director, that too with offbeat themes as in Avatharam and Devathai, both of which were box-office disasters. Nasser is unrepentant, though, and says he is still committed to weaning the Tamil audience over to appreciating serious cinema. Excerpts from an interview:
