Usha Kiran dead
Usha Kiran, noted Hindi and Marathi film actress of yesteryears, died of cancer last week. She was 71. Usha had paired as heroine opposite legendary Bollywood greats like late Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand. Usha, who also served as the sheriff of Mumbai, had later shifted to Nashik. She is survived by son, Advait Kher and daughter Tanvi Azmi.

Aap Mujhe... rolls
A seven-day shoot for Mohan Kumar’s Hrithik Roshan-Ameesha Patel starrer, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage was wrapped up in Mumbai recently. Presented by Gautam Kumar and directed by Vikram Bhatt, the film has music by Rajesh Roshan.

Naseer in Khel
Swaroop Sampat, wife of Paresh Rawal and one-time popular actress in films and TV, is to produce the play, Khel, to be directed by Paresh. Naseeruddin Shah and Paresh Rawal are to play key roles in the play which opens in Mumbai on March 18.

Bobby signs Samjay
Producer Bobby Anand has signed Sanjay Dutt to play lead roles in Maa Sherawali Productions’ next, to be directed by Sanjay Gupta. The untitled film has music by Viju Shah.

Khushboo weds
Actress Khushboo has wed well-known director C Sundar in a traditional ceremony held at a Chennai hotel. Khushboo, who has acted in over 60 films, and Sundar, who has directed several hits, have been in love for some time.

Jodi No 1 in Mumbai
Producers Dhirajlal Shah, Praveen Shah and Hasmukh Shah and director David Dhawan started a seven-day shoot for Jodi No 1 in Mumbai on March 14. Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Sonali Bendre and Twinkle Khanna play lead roles in the film which has music by Himesh Reshammiyya.

Aashiq progresses
Producer Anil Sharma and director Indra Kumar completed a 25-day shoot for Aashiq in Hyderabad last week. Starring Bobby Deol and Karisma Kapoor, the film has music by Sanjeev-Darshan.
