BETAABI
THE RESTLESS
RISE IN REVOLT

It seems like only yesterday that Harry Baweja, a student who specialised in theatre, came to Hindi films. He wanted to be a director and so joined B Subhash as his assistant. Nut then he became restless. Determined to make his own film, he proceeded to direct Trinetra and Diljale. He then decided he wnted to express the restlessness of the youth of the country, a state of mind he had lived through. His own young assistant, Rajesh Singh, came up with some suggestions based on his own experiences whihc Harry found interesting. He decided to give Rajesh a break as a director and the result was Harry Baweja's Betaabi. Harry and Rajesh selected some of the most talented stars of today to live their roles -- Chandrachur Singh, Anjala Jhaveri, Arshad Warsi and Shahbad Khan (son of the late Amjad Khan). A major part of the film has already been completed in Mumbai. "It's a film on the youth and is being made by the youth", Harry says. Vishal Bharadwaj, the restless young music director, scores the music.
