Nazara.com
launched its new web-radio by the name of Radionazara.com on the the 23rd
of May at Not Just Jazz By The Bay. This is another of their contributions
to the fast developing e-community in India. Mr Anup Jalota is the official
advisor for Radionazara.com.
One of the main advantages of this web-radio is that it will help to popularise
Indian music throughout the world and at the same time entertain its fans.
They have a lot of channels, each one catering to the different needs
of music lovers. Presently they have five channels but by next month the
number of channels will increase to 50.

One of the features of this web-radio is that the lyrics of the song that
you hear appear in a synchronised manner on the screen, like in a karaoke.
The channels that they have presently are Bollywood, Indi-pop, Ghazals
and Bhajans, a dedication channel wherein people could dedicate songs
of their choice to their beloved ones and one whole channel dedicated
to the living legend Shammi Kapoor.
They plan to have a variety of DJ programmes and also bring in artistes
to play their favourite numbers. Presently they have a daily one hour
programme in which Anup Jalota plays the songs of his choice. In future
they even want to have artistes performing live.
As of now the focus is more on Indian music but in course of time they
wish to include western as well.
The other eminent features of this radio are as follows: Every radio channel
will have an integrated chat channel which will enable people from the
channel to interact with others listening to the same channel. A user
can rate each song as it plays and add his own comments to it, which will
be rotated during that particular song, thus giving the users a great
experience. And based on these ratings the specific songs would be played
more frequently. Profiles and pictures of artistes related to a particular
song will pop up while the song is playing.
The revenue model too seems to be well suited. The idea of karaoke
will hook a lot of listeners and this will help to generate a good level
of advertising says Amit Agarwal, who handles the marketing department.
There will be a Buy Now button which will integrate e-commerce
specifically with every song. Audio jingles ofcourse will exist.
Various live events like antaakshari and singing competitions will be
held once the radio clicks among its users.
