Well, this compilation album is a sure hit, featuring songs of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol and Salman Khan on Side A, and Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Preity Zinta, Twinkle Khanna, Manisha Koirala and Juhi Chawla on Side B. The numbers you get to hear are Chhaiyya chhaiyya (Dil Se), Tujhe rab ne banaya (Mela), Mera yaar dildaar (Jaanwar), Sunta hai mera khuda (Pukar), Sapne mein kudi (Baaghi), Haan haan yeh pyar hai (Dillagi), Tan tana tan (Judwaa), Kay sera (Pukar), Kasam se (Jaanwar), Main mast (Mast), Jiya jale (Dil Se), Mela dilon ka (Mela), Raja ko rani se (Akele Hum Akele Tum) and Ek din aap (Yes Boss). BE-LAGAAM
Tarana, Rs. 35
This album has songs composed by newcomers by Amar-Akbar. The lyrics have been written by Tauqir Zaidi and Gauhar Kanpuri. The opening piece Mehfil mein aya hai rendered by Asha Bhosle and Saud Khan (only one line towards the end --Yeh dil to hai be-lagaam) is easily the pick of the lot. It is fast-paced and sung by Asha in her own inimitable way. It is followed by Tension ko thokar mar sung by Vinod Rathod and Nawab Shah, which is a well-orchestrated piece. Tujhe kaise bhulaon rendered by Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamurthy, makes you sad. The flipside opens with Swarg ke jaisa sung by Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy and is marked by lilt and rhythm. The Jaspinder Nirula-rendered Aaja aaja dil leja is another bright piece in the album which ends with the title music, which is again pleasing to the ears.
