DE DEAL

The two Italian bigwigs of the Hollywood industry are finally getting together for the very first time. Danny DeVito is in the process of negotiating a deal with Warner Bros. to direct The Little Things. And Robert De Niro is more than likely to star in the movie about the hunt for a serial killer. Quite a drastic change for director Danny DeVito whose last directorial effort was the family film, Matilda.

STARRY PERKS

Check out some of the personal bills which stars have totted up and charged to their studios. Demi Moore spent over $877,000 to keep her entourage during the making of The Scarlet Letter. Julia Roberts spent $841,000 on I Love Trouble. And Melanie Griffith spent $589,000 on Born Yesterday. Some of the incidents which lead to such huge expense are no joke for the studios, but they are quite laughable in themselves. Demi Moore, for instance, decided that to make an appearance on The David Letterman Show on TV, she needed not one but two jets and helicopters. In addition she only washes her hair with Evian water on the sets. Meanwhile, Jim Carrey isn't far behind with his demands. When he was working on Ace Ventura 2 he demanded that Morgan Creek hire his personal chef as well as a separate chef for his pet iguana. Nobly, however, Carrey agreed to split the cost of the iguana chef with the producer. And he also split the cost of a $1 million Greyhound Bus which was converted into a dressing room, complete with marble flooring and chrome plating.
