Nowhere To Land on Hallmark Ent
Hallmark Entertainment has an engrossing action drama in store for its
viewers. The channel will premiere Nowhere To Land July 23, at 10.00 p.m.
The film stars Jack Wagner, Christine Elise, James B. Sikking, Mark Lee
and Ernie Hudson.
The story goes thus. Chemical engineer Phillip Deacon (Mark Lee) is determined
to ensure that no one else will ever have his ex-wife, and plans to kill
her by placing a nerve gas bomb on her airline flight from Sydney to Los
Angeles. Registered as a passenger, he plants the device, then pretents
illness and exits the plane.
As the plane passes the midpoint between Hawaii and Los Angeles, the longest
flying stretch in the world without a place to land, Phillip calls the
airline headquarters and reveals his plan. The message is transmitted
to the planes Captain John Prescott (Jack Wagner) who enlists the
aid of a passenger, George Eller (James B. Sikking), a retired pilot and
Prescotts mentor. They are in extreme peril due to the fact that
the bomb will detonate before they can land, and any attempt to disarm
it will trigger it. Deacons ex-wife, Claire, the other passengers,
and the crew have only one hour to live!
The Los Angeles Police Department calls in anti-terrorism specialist,
Danny Gorlin (Ghostbusters feature film star, Ernie Hudson). Gorlin radios
Prescott and helps him buy some time.
Since it will be impossible to land without igniting the bomb, Gorlin
does the only thing he can - he instructs Prescott on how to go about
disarming the bomb.
In Sydney, FBI agent, Mike Tanner (Damian Pike), whose girlfriend is on
the plane, learns about the situation and teams up with Tom Kelly (Brendan
Moar), an Australian officer, to track down Deacon. After Deacon calls
his ex-wife on the plane, they manage to trace the call back to a local
pub. When they try to capture him, he tears up the only diagram of the
bomb and leads them on a chase through the Sydney streets. The chase ends
up trapping Deacon on a rooftop. He backs toward the edge of the roof,
then slips. Tanner grabs him, but Deacon refuses to help himself up. Tanner
loses his grip and Deacon falls to his death.
Tanner and Kelly find the torn diagram and fax it to Gorlin, who radios
instructions to Prescott. With three seconds left, Prescott snips the
right wire. But the diagram reveals another danger - a second bomb is
set to detonate on landing!
