Iron Maiden returns after six years with Brave New World

Milestone Entertainment has released Iron Maiden’s new album Brave New World. The 10 track, 70-minute effort is said to be heavy, yet stirring and ambitious. The album happens to be a single cassette collection of the most happening heavy metal/hard rock tracks from Iron Maiden after a gap of six years and group’s fans have a reason to rejoice.

The latest album from the six-man group up will be the first that the band recorded since vocalist Bruce Dickinson and Guitarist Adrian Smith rejoined the band in February last year.

More than an album, Brave New World, is a call to arms; a reminder of the righteous power of metal from a band who have continued as defenders of the faith, while those around them have either withered or denied their roots. "This kind of music - metal, hard rock or whatever you want to call it - has suffered from the death of a 1000 cults in recent years. It had to go underground again and its about time someone dragged it back out into the daylight. That’s where Maiden comes in," states Iron Maidens singer Bruce Dickinson.

Brave New World is an endeavour to re-affirm Maiden’s position as one of the greatest metal/heavy rock bands of all time. It also boasts of a sparkling production job courtesy of Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, The Black Crows, Silverchair), aided and abetted by Steve Harris with the former also engineering and mixing the album. Hence, it nods at the bands rich heritage of more than 50 million albums sold, 13 Top Ten albums in UK, three 1’s and legendary strength-sapping world tours.

"I am proud of this album," concurs Steve Harris, "Whether it’s flavour-of-the-month or whatever I don’t know and I don’t really care. It’s never been about that with Maiden. We’ve never been fashionable and we probably never will be. But we’ve stuck to our guns, done what we’ve wanted to do and taken the knocks. To me, the only ambition we’ve ever had is to make sure that we never let our fans down and I hope we never do."

Brave New World has made some amazing chart debuts in the top three positions worldwide. In US, with 40,000 units already sold within a week of its release, it is hitting the Billboard Chart, the R&R Rock and Active Rock Chart. It is also the 1 album running in Sweden, Greece and Portugal.
