People's Verdict

100 % initial for Refugee
The talk of the trade is JP Dutta’s Refugee. With its extraordinary publicity, the film has generated interest not only among the public but also in film business circles. The film has registered 100 per cent collections in some parts of the country. According to prominent distributor Indravadan Shah, even in a place like Bhuj, two cinemas - Ravi and Modern, which are hardly a kilometre apart, the film has registered 100 per cent collections. The business in Gujarat circuit of other films is not satisfactory, he said, adding that there was a perceptible drop in collections after the first week in the case of both Josh and Tarkieb.

Reports from elsewhere suggest that Refugee has taken housefull collections in all centres. In Mumbai, all cinemas have been booked for a week, but the second week’s advance booking is on in full swing. However, the audience’s reaction has been that the film is too long and badly needs to be trimmed.
Another film released last Friday was Kabaristan. The horror flick, as expected has had little audience appeal.

Tarkieb
The first week collection in Mumbai came to 63 per cent while it registered 71 per cent in Calcutta. It had 51 per cent collections in Delhi. However, it showed poor collections in Rajasthan.

Yeh Hai Prem Janjaal

The suspense film has not done well, because it has no face value. In Mumbai it registered 38 per cent collections in the first week.

Raat Ka Shikar

The film collected 27 per cent in Mumbai.

Champakali

The revenge drama did a business of 29 per cent in Mumbai in the first week.

Josh

Even in the third week Josh has done a business of 82 per cent in Mumbai but in Calcutta it registered 44 per cent collections.

Kya Kehna!
The film did a business of 35 per cent in Mumbai.

Hera Pheri

In the 13th week, it registered 40 per cent collections in Mumbai

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge

The film did 44 per cent business in Mumbai in its 15th week.

Kaho Na Pyar Hai

Even in its 24th week, the film registered 44 per cent collections in Mumbai.
