Sometime back, Lucky Ali was recognised only because of his famous father, veteran comedian Mehmood. Till he requested music lovers to lend a ear to his music and his songs, with his first album Sunoh. And sunoh they did, lapping up the album to make it a phenomenal success. Now Lucky Ali is as famous as his father. After a long and eager wait of two years, India’s pop-icon has released his second album, Sifar.

We met the singer-composer to know more about him and his passion for music. Casually dressed in army-green trousers and an over-sized shirt, he came across as down-to-earth and unpretentious. Besides being a die-hard nature-lover, and a God-fearing man, who talks things philosophical, what caught our attention was that he was a thorough family man (going by the calls he got from his wife on the mobile, and he, in turn, reminding her to give the new doll to his “Baby” to play with). The joys of fatherhood were so obvious in his hazel eyes. And before more calls from home made him home-sick, we asked:
