they began twitching and dying. In all, 75 people died and 25 lost their
eyesight. The booze had been bought in bulk and was manufactured by a particular
company. The police investigaged and found that the hooch was adulterated
by the manufacturing company itself with methyl alcohol, a lethal chemical.

bear on the river. Can he maintain his leading position in society for yet
another year, in the face of challenges from younger, fitter males? One year
old son, Tuffy is mischievous and adventurous. How will he find his place
in this tough, competitive environment, as the bears gather together at the
river to feed on spawning salmon? Tuffys mother Teddys main duty
is to protect her young cub, while at the same time ensuring that she gets
her fair share of the salmon harvest! Teddys daughters, Jewel and Helen
are also bringing up cubs, and are wary of Tuffys antics, but are more
nervous of the potentially murderous impact of the big males when they come
down from the hills to feed. We also follow the fortunes of the Salmon

Submarines and Spies: A matter of national
security
February 3, 6.30 pm
This February, Thursday nights are submarine and spy
nights on the National Geographic Channel where viewers can get insights
on the largest and riskiest espionage missions and solve undersea mysteries.
Hear about the riveting tales behind the mysterious crash of a Soviet ballistic
submarine on the bottom of the ocean floor, and investigate the catastrophic
accidents that overtook submarines and their crew in two tragedies of the
Cold War.
In the spring of 1968, 750 miles off the Hawaiian coast,
a Soviet ballistic submarine crashed mysteriously on the bottom of the ocean
floor. The submarine may contain nuclear warheads and top secret materials
that could prove powerful or fatal for either the US or the Soviet Union.
This is the riveting tale of this truly historic espionage mission. Amidst
the background of political tension, the Watergate scandal and the historic
US-Soviet SALT talks, the Jennifer Project was the largest and riskiest technical
spy mission ever attempted. The details of the project and the results of
what were found have never been revealed... until now.
