MAAHERCHI PAAHUNI (MARATHI)

An album of songs from the Marathi film Maaherchi Paahuni,
with music by Manohar Golambare. All the songs in this Vaibhav Chitra movie,
directed by Prakash Hilge, have been written by Jagdish Khebudkar. The tunes
have a folk flavour and will be appreciated by listeners. The title piece,
with which the audio opens, has been rendered by Suresh Wadkar. Apmaanaache
baan and Aaichya padaraachi sawali sarali, which seem to be parts of the
title song, are soulful and appealing in content, and sung effectively by
Suresh Wadkar.
Maraathmola gaana hey laakh molaacha sona and Aali
gawar aali have been rendered by Shakuntala Jadhav, while Vinay Mandke and
Uttara Kelkar have sung Tupaat talala saakhraat gholala. All the three have
typical folksy rhythms and will appeal to listeners not only in the rural
regions, but also the city-dwellers. The audio ends with a birthday song
rendered by Mrudula Joshi, Shrikant Narayan and Sanjay Sawant.
An album worth having is ones collection.

An audio consisting of 11 gondhali geets, which are
folk songs and are popular in the rural regions of Maharashtra. Singers Janardan
Sathe and Rangnath Sathe have rendered them effectively.
There is a preponderence of geets pertaining to Jyotiba
like Asaa Jyotiba gaaje tayaache naav, Jyotibaacha naav ghyaava and Devaa
Jyotiba (all sung by Rangnath Sathe) and Jyotibaachya darshanaala chalaa
jawoo ga and Jyotibala aale paahuni, both by Janardan Sathe. The album concludes
with Jyotibaachi aarti by Janardan Sathe and Mandali.
A must for the connoisseurs of Ghondhali geets.

it also includes witty tales revolving round modern-day happenings.
