Chachi 420
on a winning streak

After an alarmingly low-key beginning Kamal Haasan's Chachi 420 seems to have settled down to regale audiences in the North, breaking the ace actor's hoodoo. Not just that, Kamal's directorial skills are being applauded too.

With the riotous situations arising out of Kamal's transformation into a Mrs Doubtfire like character fascinating the audiences, the film has maintained an impressive 90 per cent collections in the second week.

AANKHON MEIN TUM HO
The film which opened to a lukewarm response couldn’t pick up, and at the end of the first week the collections were much below 50 per cent. Both, producer Shakti Samanta and director Ashim Samanta, preferred to release the film without much ado and this affected the collections. Sharad Kapoor and Suman Ranganathan couldn’t evoke much enthusiasm among the audiences, though their characters were strong and they were backed by a strong story.

Aflatoon
Neither Akshay Kumar's action nor Urmila's peppy presence coupled with an excellent musical score by Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen could pull Aflatoon out of fire. The second week collections registered an unimpressive 50 per cent.

Ishq
This Indra Kumar flick is having a great time at the box-office with 84 per cent collections in the fifth week. The film was helped by sprightly performances from Aamir and Juhi, backed by Ajay and Kajol. May be it will inspire Ajay to move out of the 'only action' bracket.

Dil To Pagal Hai
This Shah Rukh Khan-Madhuri Dixit-Karisma Kapoor love triangle continues to woo the audiences. In the ninth week, the collections increased slightly, from 76 per cent in the previous week, to 79 per cent. Director Yash Chopra’s romantic, touches and Uttam Singh’s music have appealed to the audience in a big way. Youth don’t seem to have enough of the film.

Since the month of Ramzan has begun, there will be no major releases for a month. Films will be released only in January end.
