Tell us something about WIL? Could you give us details? WIL offers multilingual language solutions across all languages technologies and mediums. A support base of 64 (and growing) languages combined with advanced in-house facilities ensure our capabilities to meet bulk production demand with zero-defect quality under tightest schedule deadlines. We are solutions providers of choice for the Indian Media, at WIL and we specialise in offering end-to-end language and technical solutions to print, Eelectronic, cinema, broadcast television, DTH, IPTV, DVD, Home Video, Internet, Mobile, Multimedia, Advertising, et al. In this age of internet and machine-based translations, we remain committed to providing 100 per cent human translations, the only way to ensure accurate and error free output.
What are the important activities that WIL does? We do multilingual Content Writing (Creative and Technical), multilingual Content Creation, delve in content localisation (subtitles, dubbing, website localisation, print and multimedia translations, semi-technical and technical translations). We also do language conversions, translations, transliterations and transcriptions. On the Data Processing, Laying out, Format Conversions front we do transfer to media forms with multilingual and tech support (across all technologies, mediums, formats, platforms, applications and media).
What are the languages that you deal in and what is your current output? Besides Indian languages, we also work on overseas languages. In the Indian languages category we have Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam,Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Tulu,Rajasthani, Dongri, Kashmiri, Maithili and Manipuri. International languages include Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Urdu, Bodo, Greek, Danish, Gondi, Norwegian, Finnish, Sinhalese, and Swedish. As per the output, we have a current capacity to do 18-20 films a day.
Could you tell us about the number of translations you’ve done for films? Well, there are lots. We did 15 language translations for Krrish, 12 for Fanaa, 11 for Neal ‘N’ Nikki etc.
Which are the films you have worked for? We have worked for films like Go, 50 Lakh, Dil Dosti Etc (English, Arabic, French, Dutch, Spanish- English, Arabic, French, Spanish) Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Chhodo Na Yaar, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag ( English, Arabic -English and Arabic), Johnny Gaddaar, Dhol, Aggar (English and Arabic),Halla Bol, Dhamaal, Darling (English and Arabic), Aag, Kaafila, Kaisay Kahein (English, Arabic, French), Heyy Babyy, Dhokha, Naya Daur, (English, Arabic, French, Dutch, German, Hebrew,Spanish, Portuguese) etc.
What are your charges and what is your general delivery schedule? We charge Rs 7000 for an Indian language translation while we charge between Rs 7000 and Rs 9000 for foreign languages like Arabic, Greek, Spanish while for Dutch and Portuguese translations we charge a flat Rs 15,000. We deliver any project within 24 hours after we undertake the task in real terms.
What are the industries that you cater to? We cater to several segments viz print, electronic, cinema,broadcast, television, DTH, IPTV, DVD and Home Video, internet, mobile,multimedia and advertising.
Does WIL have its own studio? WIL’s infrastructure includes five dubbing studios that we own and operate and have in-house facilities to cater to volumes. We are also capable of handling time-bound bulk assignments, manage subtitling and dubbing schedules of multiple channel telecasts for multiple territories with multilingual support.
What about the staff? We have a set of our own writers (200 in all). When we get a project we talk to our writers. As per the language, we assign the same to the person who is best suited for the job as per the wants of the project (mythological, action, family drama etc).
