 My Friend Ganesha (Hindi)

Producer: Koffee Break Pictures Ltd.
Writer-Director: Rajiv S Ruia
Stars: Ahsaas Channa, Kiran Janjani, Upasana Singh

What happens when papa-mama are too busy to attend bespectacled cutie Ashu’s PTA meet? Well, the housemaid, Gangutai (Upasana Singh) fills in and togged in her body-hugging nine-yard saree and a dangling nath (nose-ring!) ends up running after the resident bully in Ashu’s class. Six-year-old Ashu is lonely at home as well as school, so his maid advises that if his parents were to install the Ganesha idol during the Ganesh Festival, he would surely have a friend in Ganesha.

Busy parents suddenly find themselves thrown out of their respective jobs and with troubles mounting they agree to bring Ganesha home . Ashu cries himself hoarse untill baby Ganesha (animation) pops out of the blue and agrees to become his pal. Ganesha’s magical presence lends Ashu the superpower to overthrow the irksome bully in class and also helps extricating both his parents from sticky situations. So far so good, but things go too far when Ganesha erases an indecent MMS featuring Ashu’s collegian aunt! If this is a kiddie flick, how can the maker include an obscene MMS in it and have Ganesha dance in it’s place - that's totally insufferable!

Hereafter the plot skids to intolerably illogical tracks where the mother stays back at home to pray to Lord Ganesha while papa and Gangutai attend the school races to cheer Ashu when he stumbles on the tracks! The director makes a mockery of faith in Lord Ganesha and trivialises it as aartis and rituals.

And please somebody stop Upasana Singh from wearing nine yards and wiggling herself in a crass manner! She is loud and unbearable. It is evident that the debutant maker did not get his script doctored before making an imbecile narrative of it.

Sadly, the good work pitched in by Radiant Animation is totally wasted. They had created such a cute animation of baby Ganesha!
