Compact Disc India Ltd (CDI), one of India’s leading integrated media and Entertainment Company, has signed a record deal worth $20.15 million with Motion Pixel Corporation; a Los Angeles based Hollywood production company. With the forging of this deal, CDI will co-produce a 90 minute, 3D Animation film called GoaaaaaL!, based on soccer and featuring the most popular Brazilian soccer sport star, Ronaldo.
As part of this covenant, CDI will produce the animation content for Motion Pixel Corporation over a one year period, from their state-of-the art studio in Chennai. Written by renowned Hollywood writer, M.Guerrier, the film is expected to release world-wide during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.
GoaaaaaL! centered on soccer superstar Ronaldo, is a story about the aspirations of a young girl who dreams to become a soccer world champion and how her determination and hard work leads her to the fulfillment of her dream. Unlike other animation movies, GoaaaaaL! will feature real life sports personalities and celebrities and will create animated versions of them, in an endeavour to make the movie more interesting and lively for the audience. Academy Award winning actor, Ben Kingsley, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Samuel L.Jackson, Christina Aguilera to name a few will lend their voices to the film.

A first of its kind animated film on soccer, GoaaaaaL is expected to garner high revenues for the company as it is based on popular multi-cultural sport soccer and would thus appeal to an international audience comprising of both children and adults. The film is also expected to achieve revenues through film merchandising in terms of soccer balls, t-shirts, energy drinks etc.
