Dharmesh Tiwari to play Dadasaheb Phalke

Producer Dinkar Chowdhary has finalised the casting for his ambitious film to be based on the the life and times of Dadasaheb Phalke. Except the character who will play Saraswati, Phalke’s wife, the entire cast has been finalised. Veteran Prem Chopra and Kabir Bedi have been signed to play stellar roles. While Prem Chopra will enact the role of a financier who actively interacted with Phalke during his early days, Kabir Bedi plays the role of the sutradhar.The title role of Dadasaheb Phalke is to be played by actor-director Dharmesh Tiwari. While Sunil Sharma will don the cinematographers cap, Charu Mohan will be in charge of music.
Rooh in April Vijayshri Productions’ Rooh is due for release in April all over. The film is written, produced and directed by Ravi-Sanjay and it stars Sudesh Berry, Aadarsh Kumar, Meenakshi Sharma, Meghna Govil, Laxmi, Harsh, Jackson Thakkar and many others. The film to be co-produced by Kushagra has music by Vaishnav Deva, lyrics by Mumtaz Nikhat and Sahil Azmi, choreography by Acharya Raj Deepak, cinematography by Harendra Parekh. Gaurav Malhotra is the associate director.
Ye Kaisa Abhiman progresses Producer Gopal Krishna Srivastava and director Rafique Talukdar have executed a further shooting schedule from April 3 to 10 for their Shipra Movies’ Ye Kaisa Abhimaan to be held on different locales of Mumbai. Participants are Atin Bhalla, Sikandar Kharbanda, Elena, Sheetal Shah, Vishwajit Pradhan, Sanatan Modi, Jagdish Kansar, Vijaya Laxmi, Mugdha Shah and Deepak Bhatia who plays stellar roles. The film has script written by Tanvir Durrani, cinematography by Pramod Bhandari, musical score by Adesh Shrivastava, while Babubhai Thiba is the project designer.
Kuchh Khel Kuchh Masti complete Producers Raaj Gandhi and Anand Rai Indeevar have completed the entire shooting of their maiden venture Kuchh Khel Kuchh Masti under the banner of RHG Films. The film directed by Salar Shaikh has been written by Saajan Aggarwal who has also written the lyrics, music by Shamir Tandon, art by Sunil Singh, choreography by Jojo Khan, action by Hanif Sheikh, cinematography by Raju Badiger and editing by Nilesh Gavand. The film has six songs rendered by Asha Bhosle, Kunal Ganjawala, Kailash Kher, Kalpana, Sangeet Haldipur and Sapna Avasthi. The film introduces four new pairs Raja Chaudhari, Raina Mukherjee, Darshan Dev, Bharti Sharma, Sangeet Haldipur, Nisha Chaudhari, Sameer Sayed and Tanurika in lead rules along with Vijay Raj, Yashpal Sharma, Pratima Kazmi, Vallabh Vyas, Sonika Gill, Snehal Dabhi, Krishna Bhatt and Govind Namdeo in key roles with 40 artistes of NSD together for the first time in a feature film. The post-production of the film is in full swing.
Love Story for Censors The first print of Producer Rajendra Raj Kumar’s Love Story is out and has been applied for censorship. The audio cassettes and CDs of the film were recently released by a new audio company KT Music owned by Jainendra Kutiyar who co-produces the film which will be shown to censors shortly. The film has been shot in Kashmir locales and the audio was launched at the hands of leading male singer Kumar Sanu recently. CM of Kashmir Mufti Muhammed’s nephew Shumil Bhatt makes his debut in one of the male leads opposite newfind Gudiya . The film is directed by Rajendra Raj and Naresh Pal has lyrics and music by Raj Prakash.
Kumar’s Rafoo Chakkar to release in August Choreographer-turned- director B H Tharun Kumar’s Rafoo Chakkar - Fun on the run, is slated for an August 2007 release. Produced under the banner of Friday Pictures, the film stars Aslam Khan (last seen in Nayee Padosan and Dil Bechara Pyar Ka Maara), debutant Yudhishtir Urrs (better known as Channel V’s VJ Yudi), Nauheed Cyrusi (last seen in Anwar), Coke model Nisha Rawal, Archana Puran Singh, Mita Vashisht, Shakti Kapoor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Tinnu Anand and Anant Mahadevan. Rafoo Chakkar is written by Ikram Akhtar, and the film’s music has been scored by Lalit Pandit. Rafoo Chakkaris Tharun Kumar’s third film as a director, after Nayee Padosan in 2003 and Love Ke Chakkar Mein in 2006.
Phir Tauba-Tauba releasing on April 27 ‘Pushpa Movies’ Phir Tauba-Tauba is scheduled for release on April 27. The film stars Rahul Roy, Sadhika, Hitesh Kriplani, Amin Gazi, Sumit Arora, Swati Das Gupta, Priyanka Mohitra, Kinjal, Bobby Darling, Monalisa and others.The film directed by TLV Prasad has music by Arun Daga, cinematography by Akram Khan and story and screenplay by Anoop Shrivastva.
Akhir Kaun Hai 70% complete On conclusion of a 20-day marathon spell for Eye To Eye’s maiden Hindi venture Akhir Kaun Hai at Pali near Khandala, the shooting of the film is 70 per cent complete. BRB Creations launch Producers B Raj, Rajendra Rajan and Vinod Bansal inaugurated their new production office B.R.B. Creations on March 27, the Ram Navami day. Their immediate ventures are, a music album Hum Kale Dilwale to be directed by Sanjay Thakur and one Hindi feature film titled Patthar Ki Lakeer which will start rolling shortly . The people who attended the opening ceremony included editor Sunder Shetty, actor Amrit Pal, director K. Subhash, upcoming actor Pushp Raj, music directors Siddhant Madhav. Haryanvi Sauda for Censors The first print of MK Visions’ Sauda will be out shortly and will be applied for censorship. The film is written and produced by Chaudhary Balraj Thanwar and is directed by Amit Raaj. Cast: Introducing Anil Ambavata and Megha Mehar in romantic leads alongwith Dev Sharma, Santan Banjara, Jyoti Charanjit, Dharamveer Pradhan, KK Shukla and Chaudhary Balraj Thanwar. Postal Stamp released in honour of Mehboob Khan Founder Member of Producers Guild, Late Mehboob Khan was immortalized by the Indian Postal Department through the release of a commemorative stamp in honour of his monumental work for Indian cinema on March 30, in Mumbai. Mehboob Khan was a filmmaker par excellence who produced memorable films such as Mother India, Aurat, Andaz, Aan etc. He also made noteworthy contribution to the development of the Guild during his tenure as President from 1958 to 1963. He joins an illustrious company of legendary Guild members such as Dr V Shantaram (founder member), Bimal Roy and LV Prasad who were also honoured posthumously by the Indian Postal Department. The Guild extends warm salutations to Mehboob Khan whose achievements will encourage generations of Guild members and film makers in the times to come.
