 Geeya Geeya cassette released

he audio cassettes of music maestro Ilayaraja’s daughter Bhavataarini Ilayaraja’s first musical score for a Kannada film Geeya Geeya was released in a simple ceremony in Bangalore’s Hotel Harsha. Besides composing music, she has even sung a song in the film. Jyostna Reddy produces the film under the banner of Muralikrishna Films.
Talking on this occasion, Jyotsna said that this is her maiden venture and requested the audience to encourage her by making this film a success. “Our company has released the first audio cassette of many music directors’ debut films. Some of the directors include AR Rahman, Hamsalekha, V Manohar and Gurukiran. Now we have got the opportunity to provide the platform for music maestro Ilayaraja’s daughter Bhavataarini, through her debut film Geeya Geeya. Good picturisation of the songs is a plus point for this film,” said Velu of Lahari Audio cassette co, who released the cassettes. Music director V Manohar released the first cassette while Mrs Jeeva Ilayaraja, wife of the maestro, released the CD.
“Lahari has always encouraged new talent. I know Bhavataarini since her childhood and music is in her blood. The songs of this film would definitely be a hit,” said music director V Manohar. On her part Bhavataarini thanked the almighty, her parents and the producers and director of this film for having entrusted this work to her. The programme was compered by veteran stage personality AS Murthy. Some songs were also screened.
Story, screenplay, dialogue and direction for this film is by Khris King (Krishna Reddy).

Dr Rajkumar honoured
Dr Rajkumar, Kannada matinee idol was honoured by the Karnataka Government for his yeoman services to the Kannada film industry during the last 50 years, at a glittering function called Sarthaka Suvarna at Palace Grounds Bangalore on July 9.

Thousands of Dr Rajkumar’s fans gathered to witness the felicitation function of their favourite hero.
Chief Minister N Dharam Singh said, “It is our privilege to honour a person like Dr Rajkumar who has dedicated his life to Kannada films. My government has done many good things for the Kannada film industry and it will continue to do such things in future also.”
Replying to the felicitation, Dr Rajkumar said that he is in a dilemma on how to repay his debts of Kannadigas. “Your are my God. It is you who made me an artiste. I never dreamt that I would become an artiste,” Rajkumar said. Information Minister Mr B Sivaram released a book Bangarada Manushyo Golden Man depicting the life of Dr Rajkumar.

Bus Conductor in September
All film fans know that before he became a superstar, Rajnikant was a bus conductor. So now there is a film in the offing on the life of a bus conductor. Scriptwriter Ajaykumar has penned a story on the life of a bus conductor and titled it Bus Conductor. The relationship between the husband and wife is the highlight in the film which would be launched in September. Directed by Saiprakash, it has cinematography by R Giri and lyrics and music by Hamsalekha. The starcast is yet to be finalised for this film that is produced by S.N.S. Combines.

Goodluck censored
“I am very happy over the film getting ‘U’ certificate and thank producer K Manju for giving me my maiden directorial venture,” said director and journalist Nandakumar of the film Goodluck. Produced by R Srinivasa Setty and P Srinivasa Setty, the film has music by Rajesh Ramanath, cinematography by PKH Das and editing by T Sasikumar. It is due for release in September. Anirudh Jathakar, Radhika, Akshay Krishna, Daamini, Sandhya, Chitra Shenoy, Anantha Velu, director AT Raghu and Kirankumar are in the cast.

Thunta ready for release
Successful director Om Prakashrao turned producer is ready to release his film Thunta. Ravichandran’s brother Easwar and Mumbai girl Ekta Khosla are in the lead roles along with Sudharani, Amrutha, Swasthik Shankar, Rameshbhat, Ashish Vidyarthi, Ramakrishna, Sobhraj, Chitra Shenoy, Loknath, Sathyajith, Bullet Prakash, Comedytime Ganesh, Sharan and Raju Ananthaswamy. Directed by Ravichandran who has also composed the music and penned the lyrics, it has screenplay by SS David and cinematography by GVS Seetharam. Trisha Pictures produce the film.

Vishnusena unit back in Bangalore
After a long schedule of Vishnusena, the second production of M Govindu was completed in Chennai wherein some important scenes and songs were picturised, the unit has returned to Bangalore. Being a remake of the Tamil hit film Ramana, this unit had shot in the same location where the original version was picturised. After a little break, this film would commence the rest of the shooting. This film would be released on September 18.
Starring Vishnu- vardhan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Gurlin Chopra, Ashutosh Rana, Pankaj Dheer, Doddanna, Sathyajith and Mandeeproy, the film has screenplay and direction by Naganna, dialogue by Journalist Vijayasarathi, cinematography by Ramesh Babu, music by Deva, choreography by DKS Babu and editing by S Manohar.

Swamy completes re-recording
Re-recording for Swamy has been completed at Aswini Recording Studio. Produced by Smt Bharathi Basavaraj of Mandya under the banner of Darshan Films, it has story and screenplay by R Rajasekhar, dialogue by MS Ramesh and R Rajasekar, cinematography by Dasari Seenu and music by Gurukiran. Directed by MS Ramesh, it stars Darshan, Gayathri Jayaram, Jai Jagadish, Sobhraj, Sri Raksha, Rangaayana Raghu, Sagar and Bharath Bhagavathar.
