 Ashok, the eldest of the Amrithraj Brothers, who forayed into the world of entertainment after a fairly-successful career in tennis, now owns Amrithraj-Solomon Communications, with Michael Solomon, president of Warner Brothers, as partner. They produce films only for the Indian market while another company, named after himself, produces films for the international market. Currently producing Love You Hamesha with Akshaye Khanna and Sonali Bendre in Hindi and Jeans in Tamil with celebrated director Shankar (of Kathalan and Indian fame), Amrithraj was in Chennai on a brief visit recently. He speaks to Screen about Jeans, which is scheduled for release in April, and his plans.
