TELE
BUZZ
Seema
Kapoors back!
Following
her controversial exit from the popular extra-marital drama, Hasratein, the
sizzling Seema Kapoor appeared to be content playing the provocateur in Padosan
and Shahbaaz Khans co-star in the costume drama, Inteqam. Now, however,
the light-eyed actress is all set to singe the small screen again with her
scorching performance in Chandni on Zee. In her introductory episode, Seema
played an informant. Whether she is out to make trouble for Sangeeta Bijlani
playing the title role in the serial, only the unfolding drama will
reveal.
Celebrating
Valentine MTV style
Romance
is in the air folks, with Valentines Day just around the corner. With
lovers planning to woo their sweethearts with candy and candlelight,
tele-channels too are getting ready for a romantic rendezvous. MTV is doing
it's wooing in a rather unique way, through its popular countdown show MTV
EK Do Teen. Its whacky anchor, Raageshwari will be playing Cupid and
setting up a blind date between, obviously, a boy and girl. The duo will
then dine together, go to a film and well...be each others valentine,
what else?
Rock The Vote
on MTV
Since
the voters age-limit has been dropped to 18 years, the youth, the collegian
population in particular, has assumed a vital and decisive position in the
democratic process. With the elections just around the bend, if other current
affairs and news channels are gearing up in a big way to cover the event,
the youthful MTV channel is not lagging behind. MTVs very much ''with
it''. Their latest offering Rock The Vote appeals to the young voter to exercise
his franchise cautiously through the slogan You have an opinion.
You also have a vote. The inaugural episode featured Congress veteran
Margaret Alva discussing issues like women and reservation, the role of media
and youth in politics with a panel of students. The following episodes will
have other prominent politicians talking to todays youth about their
concerns and commitments.
Music Asia covers

of the Banganga tank and this musical yatra weaves magic with enchanting
recitals by maestros. For those who couldnt attend the festival, Music
Asia assures you have no regrets by bringing home the dhrupad gaiki of the
Gundecha brothers and the santoor recital of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma. Spread
over four episodes on Saturdays at 9 pm, this show offers a lot. So stay
tuned for some soul-stirring music on Music Asia.
Hum Aapke Hai
Kountdown, now on Sundays
Looks
like competition was hotting up for Sonys countdown show Hum Aapke
Hai Kountdown. The only countdown show to be telecast on Tuesdays, Hum Aapke...
was pitted against Zees popular sitcom Hum Paanch at 8pm. Though Hum
Aapke... has a very good anchor in Sudesh Bhosle, the show didnt climb
the popularity charts as fast as it should have. Thats probably why
the show is now being shifted to the Sunday 8 pm slot. Now Sudesh will have
to match his wits with Neelam whos anchoring Bakemans Ooh La
La on STAR Plus at the same time.
Music
videos to science fiction
Sanjay
Singh left Jaipur for the city of dreams. Starting off with plum modelling
assignments like Vimal shirts and Charminar cigarettes, he got into the show
business with Suchitra Krishnamurty's music video Dole dole. Now hes
landed more substantial roles in popular serials likeChahat Aur Nafrat and
Usool. Though the title role in Ketan Mehtas sci-fi , Captain Vyom
has gone to the dashing Milind Soman, Sanjay is more than thrilled to be
playing Captain Blaize, the mercenary. Theres plenty of action
for me, he relates excitedly. |
