SAGARIKA MEETS HER MR.RIGHT...

...and is all set to release her solo album
We were pleasantly surprised when we heard that Sagarika, of the brother-sister team of Shaan-Sagarika, had tied the knot and has been enjoying matrimonial bliss for a good three months now. The lucky guy is Salim Merchant, a composer, who composed the song Wajah muskurane ki for Magnasound’s album A Reason To Smile. We asked Sagarika about this sudden but welcome twist in her life, and she was all smiles. “It just happened. We had been going around for a year, but hadn’t thought of marriage. Even my friends were taken by surprise by this sudden decision,” says Sagarika. According to the singer, Salim belonged to her friend circle and they have been acquaintances for the past seven years. “We were just friends then. He had his girlfriends and I had my boyfriends. Ultimately we both decided that we were made for each other,” she says shyly, “and we got married.”

Since both are from the music industry, there is no doubt that they make an ideal couple and will always be there to help each other in their careers. Salim, who had earlier composed music for Shweta Shetty’s album Bekaraar, has composed music for Sagarika’s new album. “My last album was Naujawan with my brother Shaan. Now I am looking forward to the release of my solo album which will have in its credits a husband-wife team,” she beams.
