Cool kid Kaivalya
The name, Kaivalya Chheda, does not ring a bell. But the face instantly does.
He is the chubby kid in the Cadburys Gems commercial. Even Peppy features
him as their hot favourite. However, for some reasons Kaivalya cannot fathom,
he has already acquired the image of a villain! In fact,
he is turning
out be the film and television industrys most favoured young baddie.
I dont know why they want me to be the bad kid. All the directors
are giving me roles where I have to play the naughty child. They like to
give me such roles. What do I do? asks this fourth standard kid in
all seriousness.
He is playing the bad kid in the tele-serials Custom Files and Munna Raja.
Both are yet to come on air. In Custom Files, Im not really very
bad. But then, the director asked me to be very naughty. Im a detective
in this serial. In Munna Raja, Im a very bad kid and my name is Rocky.
In this serial, I am supposed to create trouble for everybody around,
he says with a shy smile.
In Devgan Productions Raju Chacha, he plays Pramod Mouthos son
who helps his father in his attempt to snatch the fantasy home of Rishi Kapoor.
A query on whether he idolises any villain brings forth a very vehement
No.
In Hera Pheri too, he is one of the 12 kids in the film. Here too, his job
is to trouble all the other children. Sunil Shetty doesnt like
me because I keep troubling others but Tabu likes me. I even have one song
in this film, he told. In Sunny Deols Champion, Keval is playing
Abhisheks best friend. Sunny, in his attempt to safeguard Abhishek,
doesnt allow him to play out. Kaivalyas job is to find ways to
outwit Sunny and make him move out of the house. I enjoyed doing
this film, he exults.
Besides films and television, Kaivalya is doing quite a few commercials for
chocolates, mints and other childrens products. But ads are nothing
new. Ive been doing them since quite some time, he says airily.
This little villain on screen is a cool kid off it. He likes to be courteous
rather than pompous. In between his shots, he prefers to listen to some music
on his walkman rather than chatting away with other unit members. His favourite
music? Patriotic songs! I like them a lot. Pop and other songs
are good, but only for a change, he says with a cute smile. But once the
camera is on, the chubby little face takes on a mean, nasty look, quite
effortlessly.
