Words of wisdom

Veteran lyricist Hasan Kamaal who is one of the four lyricists who penned Asha Aur Khayyam is all praises for Asha Bhosle’s golden voice and Khayyam’s music. Waxing eloquent on Asha Aur... he says, “I have always considered Ashaji as one of the best singers who has no competition. For 40 years her voice has been my companion in times of loneliness. This matchless voice with Khayyam Sahab’s music is like a bonanza.” Continuing in the same vien, he adds, “I am thankful that the sanctity of my lyrics has been maintained in this album, especially in these times when original lyrics are destroyed by the present lot of music directors. Aaj ke daur mein to Khuda ko khoda jaata hai.” Very true Hasan Sahab.

Remixed identity

Guess what the lady swathed in black is doing in front of the mike? No, she is not imitaiting Anaida crooning Oova oova. This lady by the name of Faith Wadia stars in a music video of a remix album called AR Rahman Hits Remixed. And the video is titled, yes you guessed it, O bhanware. Ms. Wadia plays a woman who has everything in life and yet is stalked by an unknown fear which she is running away from in the Daud style.

Guess who's back?

Don’t mistake this for a jewellry advertisment. This photograph is of a very famous pop singer who’s back to the world of pop after a hiatus of three years. But the music company she is with would rather create a mystery about her comeback appearance. Though what they will achieve by this gimmick is a bit foggy. The singer has been a rage these past few months with two raunchy chart-busters to her credit. If you still haven’t guessed her name, watch this space.
