Director
Rajan Khosa and Kitu Gidwani, his lead actress in his first film, Dance Of
The Wind (also titled Wara Mandal), have both struck the jackpot in recent
European festivals where the film was premiered. For Khosa, the film has
won acclaim, prizes and distributors.

FORCES WILL DICTATE STAR

The film indusry, weighed down with unmitigated pressure since the
middle of the year, is still reeling under the combined effect of fear psychosis,
poor box-office show of films and soaring star prices. Most producers, however,
complain bitterly only about the latter phenomenon and say that it is this
which they find difficult to come to terms with.

CEILING
The members of the Central Circuit Cine Association (CCCA), who
comprise distributors from the central India, at their meeting in Indore
recently, resolved not to buy films on Minimum Guarantee (MG) at a price
exceeding Rs.72 lakhs beginning from January next year. CCCA president Santosh
Singh Jain told SCREEN last week that he would see to it that the decision
was carried through without default.
