Acting

co-star in many a yester-year movie. Kanaka herself has blossomed into a
self-assured actress, seeming to fit into most roles effortlessly. Having
made her debut in a Tamil film, Karahatakaran, Kanaka however, failed to
reach the top in Tamil cinema, despite creditable performances in several
films. But, thanks to Siddique-Lals runaway hit, Godfather, she made
a triumphant entry into Malayalam films, where she continues to reign supreme.

Upendra teed off his directorial career with run-of-the-mill commercial
films, Tharle Nanmaga and Operation Antha (a sequel to Antha, the political
trendsetter of the 80s). But thereafter, his films have been novel in title
and theme. He followed up the successful Sh, with the runaway hit Om, which
had several real-life dons making their debut as actors. After the mega success
of Om, he was flooded with offers, including a Hindi film for ABCL. But the
failure of Omkaaram (the remake of Om) shattered his dreams of making it
to Hindi films. In his latest film, A, he makes his debut as the hero opposite
another debutant, heroine Chandini. So whats next on Upendras
agenda? An ambitious film with no title...
