Her album Higher Ground sold more than 206,000 copies in the US, within the first week of its release. It debuted at No.1 position on the Billboard and SoundScan charts. But this is not a first for Barbra Streisand. Her Back To Broadway debuted at No. 1 with sales of 121,000 copies in the first week of its release in 1993. Infact Higher Ground, a collection of inspirational music, is Streisand’s eighth album to hit the No.1 slot over the past four decades. Barbra’s other No.1 albums include People (1964), A Star Is Born (1976), Greatest Hits Vol.2 (1978), The Way We Were (1979), Guilty (1980) and The Broadway Album (1985).

SOLID HARMONIE

Shiamak Davar cutting an album? Didn’t know he could sing too. Shiamak is bewildered by the reaction. “God has given me the gift of acting, dancing and singing, and I think it is a sin to hide it. Besides these three fields compliment each other,” he points out. Sure.
