*** Gang nets 35% in Mumbai
The depression is disappearing from trade circles. But there is no enthusiasm in the trade either. Distributors are cautiously moving their cards not knowing which film will click. Hopes are riding high on the Sanjay Dutt starrer Chal Mere Bhai opening next week.

Distributor Tolu Bajaj says he is in a happy position as far as his film, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge is concerned. He says it is a “plus film” in Mumbai territory. The film, when released, had no opposition for four weeks and had a clear field, thanks to which it could collect enough for him to claim it is more than a commission earner.

Dil Hi Dil Mein
Though the film has no face value, its publicity has paid it rich dividends, as the film registered 100 per cent on the opening day in Mumbai in the city but in the suburbs its collections were low at 40 per cent.

Hadh Kar Di Aapne
The film has been appreciated in Maharashtra because comedies do well always in the state. In the first week, the film collected 84 per cent business in Mumbai, 59 per cent in Delhi, 44 per cent in Calcutta, 46 per cent in Bhopal, 65 per cent in Lucknow, 655 per cent in Raipur and collected Rs 24,26,923 in Hyderabad.

Gang
The film did a business of 35 per cent in Mumbai, 22 per cent in Delhi, and 37.7 per cent in Lucknow in the first week.

Baaghi
Its collections dropped in the second week, and it managed to register just 44 per cent in Mumbai, 35 per cent in Calcutta, 22 per cent in Delhi and 36 per cent in Lucknow.

Hera Pheri
In its third week the film did a business of 82 per cent in Mumbai.

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge
Even in its fourth week the film registered a collection of 64 per cent in Mumbai from seven cinemas, while 8 cinemas were on fixed hire. The film has done very well in Mumbai, Delhi-UP, West Bengal and Nizam. However, it has not done too well in CPCI and Rajasthan and Kerala.

Kaho Naa... Pyar Hai
The film is still going strong. In its 14th week, it registered a collections of 59 per cent in Mumbai from seven cinemas while five cinemas were on fixed hire.

Hum Saath Saath Hai
The film celebrated its silver jubilee at several centres in Mumbai.

This week:
There are no significant and big-budget films due for release this Friday. Among the small-budget films due are Rahasya, Basanti and Chote Miyan (dubbed).
