TELE BUZZ

Girl friend no. 5
If you thought that the creative heads at Chahat Aur Nafrat, the popular love-hate melodrama on Zee, couldn’t serve any more bouncers after changing Sharad Kapoor into Salil Ankola. Think again! For they have just introduced a fifth woman in the hero’s life. After wooing, dating, jilting and divorcing Channa Ruparel, Navni Parihar, Pallavi Joshi and Arundhati, Sharad-turned-Salil is now chasing Vaidehi. “That will make the story more interesting,” claims director Saurabh. How far the gimmicks work, remain to be seen.

Music Asia now brings an in-depth look at the goings-on behind-the-scene that constitute the creation. Focussing on the unreleased Hindi film number or a music video, Music In Making will zoom in on directors, singers, choreographers, lyricists and artistes involved in the making of the song. Hard-hitting performance
On the sets of Chahat Aur Nafrat, Arundhati had to slap Salil Ankola hard across the face. The debonair cricketer-turned-actor was rather wary of the entire proceedings. Arundhati, had, in a similar shot for Daraar, served a stinging one on Harsh Chhaya’s pink cheeks. Harsh just rubbed his cheek vigorously and forgot the episode. Looks as if Salil heard of Arundhati’s hard-hitting performance for he kept shying away from shooting the scene. Fortunately for Salil, he ducked well in time, and escaped unhurt after the shot. That’s more than he did on the cricket pitch.

Pardon, Laila
We ran into lovely Laila Rouass, of the Close-Up Close Encounters of Channel (V) fame on the sets of UTV’s Style for BBC. And were we confounded by her heavily accented conversation? Well, we confess we could hardly follow what she was talking about, all we could do is gape at the pretty damsel. Not that we least minded, but for the fact that we were commissioned to interview her. We found the said communication gap a trifle disconcerting. We strained our ears in vain to catch her fly-by quotes. Alas! with little success. Agreed you are a product of mixed parentage - with a Goan mom and Moroccan pop and that you were brought up in the Queen’s country, but now that you are here in Bharat mahan could you please tone down your accent for us desis please?

The show
must go on
