Tighter
security for Govinda
Repeated threatening calls made at Govindas Jal Darshan
residence during last week have necessitated a strong posse of policemen
to be stationed at his doorstep. They also affected the shootings of KB
Pictures Pardesi Babu in Holland and Vimal Kumars Rajaji. Govinda
returned to work on April 18 under strict security. The police is going all
out to trace the calls which have plagued Govinda for almost a year
now.
Amitabh releases
fathers book
Amitabh Bachchan released the autobiography of his father, Dr Harvanshrai
Bachchan, at a function held in New Delhi last week. The book titled In The
Afternoon of Time is an English translation of the autobiography which records
the entire saga of the Bachchan family and the happenings around
them.
Mahesh Bhatts
last will be on mother
The death of Mrs Shireen Bhatt, last week, wife of the veteran filmmaker
Nanabhai Bhatt and mother of Mahesh, Mukesh and Robin Bhatt has led to Mahesh
Bhatts postponing his plans for retirement as a director. He will now
make a film based on the life of his mother, and call it Shireen. He has
already started working on a script and will finalise other plans soon to
pay a sons best tribute to his mother.
Vijay Sippy
dead
Producer Vijay Sippy, son of veteran producer GP Sippy and brother of Ramesh
(Sholay) Sippy, was found dead in mysterious circumstances in the compound
of Urvashi building in South Mumbai. The post-mortem and police investigation
were on as we go to the press. Apart from producing a few films, Vijay was
also an executive producer for films made under the banner. |
