Subhash Ghai has lashed out at the 12-member jury selecting films for the
national award, for omitting his film, Pardes, from the shortlist prepared
for it. Ghai told Screen that though his film was sidelined, he does not
propose to question the unparalleled wisdom of the panel. See

Bharadwaj to
return as Lord Krishna
Nitish
Bharadwaj, who shot to fame as Lord Krishna in BR Chopras Mahabharat,
is all set to return, donning the mantle of Lord Krishna, besides directing,
co-producing and co-writing Gita Rahasya, which is scheduled to go on air
from March 99 on DDs Sunday, 9 am slot. Written by eminent Hindi
novelist, Prof. Narendra Kohli, the serial is produced by Bharadwaj and Ajay
Shah under the banner of Isha Entertainment.
David to direct
Shah Rukh, Karisma
Shah
Rukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor play the romantic lead for the first time in
Cineyugs untitled film to be directed by David Dhawan. Anupam Kher
plays a key role. Other details are being finalised.

Khanna, the BJP MP from Gurdaspur was given a rousing reception at the Santacruz
Airport when he visited the city for a day. Among the industry leaders who
were present at the airport were Mr Shakti Sama-nta, Mr Sultan Ahmed, president,
IMPPA among others. The actor-MP promised to air all the industrys
grievances and see that they were redressed as soon as possible.

Anupam
Kher who had taken a voluntary break from acting for a while to devote time
to Media Entertainment Company, his software company, is now back to acting
in a big way. Within a short time he has signed six big films prominent among
which are Feroz Khan's Prem Aggan, D Rama Naidus untitled film, directed
by Satish Kaushik, Rakesh Roshans Kaho Naa, Pyaar Hai, Karan Johars
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Cineyugs new film to be directed by David
Dhawan.
Pardesi Babu
in Holland
The
unit of KB Pictures Pardesi Babu left for Holland on April 13. A song
is to be picturised on Govinda and Raveena Tandon in the famous Tulip gardens
there under the supervision of choreographers Chinni Prakash and Rekha Chinni
Prakash. The film is being directed by Manoj Agarwal for producer Kulbh-ushan
Gupta. Its a Vinod Avlani presentation. It will be complete after this
schedule.
Sahara takes
over Home
The
Sahara group is to acquire a controlling stake of 51 per cent in Home TV,
as international broadcasting majors, Carlton and Pearson pull out of the
financially-beleaguered channel. As per an equity restructuring package signed
recently, Sahara will get a 30 per cent stake from Carlton and Pearson and
21 per cent more from Hindustan Times TV, TVB and Schroders.

Mammootty, who was in Mumbai last week, to dub for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar,
at Empire Audio Studio, was granted a warm welcome by Feroz Lakdawala and
the Empire management. Feroz, the youngest director of Empire, presented
him with a bouquet. The star also celebrated Bakri-Id on April 8 in Ferozs
company, even accompanying him to Idgah Masjid, Versova for
