CURRENT OBSESSION  Parallel Kannada cinema’s lone crusader, Girish Kasaravalli, has sprung a big surprise on his committed audience, by choosing an epic canvas to define what freedom means to an individual. Aided by rich costumes designed by Vaishali Kasaravalli, and filmed in the backdrop of a north Karnataka wadi, which recreates exotic albeit ethnic environs, Girish examines the concept of freedom through a myriad aural and visual images in Thai Saheba, which has been produced by Jayamala, the yesteryear star of Kannada cinema.
