Indra
Chiranjeevi
all the way
Thankfully,
Chiranjeevis Indra shows the factionist as a human rather
than just a dreader killer since he sacrifices his wealth, agrees
to marry the sister of his rival and also promises to leave the
region if his rivals give their land for constructing a reservoir
for his drought-prone region.
Director B
Gopal tactfully underplays the vendetta angle by elevating his good
deeds and the resolution of Chiranjeevi walking towards the people
than into the hands of leading ladies Sonali Bendre and Aarti lives
up to the caption Born for the people. It would be an
interesting film if you can overlook many similarities with earlier
faction-ridden movies.
Chiranjeevi
leads a life of a taxi-driver in Varanasi along with his nephew
and niece. Sonali Bendre falls in love with him and moves into his
house claiming to be an orphan. On the lookout for his daughter
Prakash Raj who is a governor, is surprised to see her beside Chiranjeevi
who is a revered leader of the Rayalaseema region. When a boy (Sivaji)
working with him discloses his love for his niece, Chiranjeevi gets
them married. Later he is shocked to know that Sivaji is none-other
than the relative of his arch rival Mukesh Rishi and Aarti Agarwal
and Sivaji walks away with them. It is revealed in the flashback
that Chiranjeevi, a rich landlord, is revered by the people of Rayalaseema
for his good deeds. In exchange of a land to construct a reservoir,
Chiranjeevi sacrifices his wealth, agrees to marry his rivals
sister and also promises to leave the region. But when Rishi kills
his family members, in retaliation Chiranjeevi kills his three brothers
and leaves for Varanasi as promised. Now he returns to the region
to take back Sivaji and after settling scores with his rivals, he
dedicates himself for the service of the people, leaving both the
ladies disappointed.
