Vijayachander
as Saibaba
More
than a decade ago, actor Vijayachander created ripples by playing
Shirdi Saibaba to perfection in Sri Shirdi Saibaba Mahatyam and
now he is trying recreate the magic by playing the revered God once
again in his soon-to-be-released film Pillusthe Pallukutha. While
the former was strictly devotional, the later is a fusion of love
and devotion and justifying it, he says, "Love is divine so
there is nothing wrong in it."
Similarly he
played Jesus Christ twice in a much-acclaimed Karunamayudu and later
in a daily serial Dayasaagar. He also played Yogi Vemanna and Andhra
Kesari but couldnt taste success similar to his devotional
roles. With his latest offering, he is confident of wooing the youth
and devotees unmindful of the risk involved since a small mistake
could have an adverse impact.
We have to
now wait and watch if Vijayachander recreate the magic all over
again.
Chakri in big league
With veteran
director Vamsi signing him for his latest film Avunu Valliddaru
Ishtapadaru, young composer Chakri moves to the big league and if
he properly utilises the opportunity, he can make a definite mark.
"It has been a great learning experience and fortunately, he
approved one of my tunes within minutes," disclosed the young
lad with happiness writ all over his face. The number Raa Ramani
... is interesting but Chakri is confident about his other compositions
too. "I have grown up hearing songs composed by Vamsi and Illayaraja
so I understand his taste and he also promised another film for
me," reveals the composer who bounced into the limelight with
the musical hit Itlu Sravani Subramanayam. But he was unable to
keep up the winning streak with his other releases including Aduthu
Paduthu failing to impress. "I couldnt do much because
it was a hilarious film so I have decided to pick films which have
scope for music," declares Chakri whos music in soon-to-be-released
Kanulu Musina Neevaye has been appreciated. He has joined hands
with his favourite director Puri Jaganath for Idiot to recreate
the magic of Itlu .... Again Puri has extracted the best from me,"
reveals Chakri who has few more offers in the pipeline. If Puri
signs him for his next film with Chiranjeevi than other stars could
follow suit to give him a permanent place among the top brass.
Zeenat back in Telugu
Actress
Zeenat is back in Telugu films wit Cash after making her debut in
Telugu with College Bolludu more than ten years ago. "I was
looking too young to be cast opposite Telugu actors," reasons
Zeenat who became busy with Kannada and Malayalam movies. "My
biggest hit in Kannada was Muthanna with Shivraj Kumar and Papayude
Sontham Appu with Mammootty in Malayalam," disclosed the multi-lingual
actress. If she was too young to play the lead to middle-aged Telugu
heroes, how come she has accepted a role opposite senior actor like
Mammootty now? "The age gap was evident even in the film since
he played a widower with a kid and I play the governess. Though
there is no love angle between us, we end up marrying each other,"
says the actress who wants to do meaty roles in South films.
Chakravarthy to direct
Actor Chakravarthy
of Satya fame has been signed by producer Mahendra Darwal to direct
a Hindi film. "Darwal was impressed with my work in Durga,"
reveals Chakri. Though his maiden directorial venture Durga failed
to make an impact at the turnstiles, it fetched him a film to direct.
He has signed Priyanka Chopra, Aryan Dev and Shamita Shetty to play
the main lead with music by Himesh Reshammiya. "We will commence
shooting from July," disclosed Chakri whose career as an actor
has come to a standstill. With his recent releases including Premaku
Swagatham and a guest role in Amritha sinking without a trace, it
seems that he wants to move behind the camera. Durga had lot of
similarities with Satya and let us hope that he attempts something
different at least in his next film.
