Producer-director-editor Feroz Khan shot his F.K. Films Pvt. Ltd.’s, Production No. 3, titled Janasheen from June 10 to 12 at various Mumbai locales. This was followed by a month-long marathon shooting spell from June 15 at the scenic and picturesque locales of Bangalore wherein songs and many dramatic, emotional, romantic, thrilling and hair-raising action scenes are being canned on the entire starcast. The film stars Fardeen Khan with Miss India Celina Jatley making her debut in the lead alongwith new find Pinky Hirwani. Also starring are Johny Lever, Kashmira Shah, Harsh Chhaya, Yash Tonk, Amit Dhawan, Anil Nagrath, Mangal Dhillon, Shehzaade, Shiva, Archana Puran Singh and Feroz Khan in a dynamic role. In credits the film has screenplay by Shiraz Ahmed and Supam Verma, dialogue by Kamlesh Pandey, cinematography by Neelab Kaul, action by Amin Gani, art by Bijon Das Gupta, sound by Shakeel Aziz Keval, choreography by Bosco-Ceasar and Remo D’Souza, lyrics by Tejpal Kaur, Dev Kohli, Praveen Bhardwaj and Timon Singh from Oxford, London and music by Anand Raj Anand, Biddu, Mrinal Sampad and Channi Singh. Parvesh Sagar is the associate director of the film which is slated for releases in September.

Kyon? progressing fast

Director Kalpana Lajmi’s Kyon? is progressing fast. A 15-day shooting spell of the film was completed on June 3 at Graphic House, Madh Island, St. Mary’s High School, Byculla, Bandra Bandstand, Juhu Scheme and other Mumbai locales wherein two songs and many dramatic, romantic, action scenes and other important talkie portions were canned. Another major 15-day shooting spell also commenced on June 9 at various locales of Mumbai. The film stars Rahul Dev, Sanober Kabir, Chaitanya Choudhary, Sachit Patil, Amit Jain, Pratiksha Patel, Kunika Lall, Mangal Dhillon, Benjamin Gilani, Anju Mahendroo, Soni Razdan, Javed Khan, Ashok Beniwal, Amar Talwar and Parmeet Sethi. Produced by Excel Vision & Concepts, the film has story-screenplay by Kalpana Lajmi, dialogue by Salim Arif, cinematography by Arvind Kannabiran, action by Sham Kaushal, choreography by Terrance Lewis, audiography by Namita Nayak, art by Shailesh Mahadik, editing by Anirbaan, lyrics by Prasoon Joshi with guest music composition by Silk Route and music by Bhupen Hazarika.

Saroj Khan turns director

Producer TP Aggarwal has signed ace choreographer Saroj Khan to direct his next venture, to be made under the banner of Star Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Rahul Aggarwal is the associate producer. Cast and credits are under finalisation.

Satish Tandon to produce English films

After Jung starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Aditya Panscholi, Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty, producer Satish Tandon is now producing films in English, in Hollywood. He has collaborated with producer Charles of Alibon Entertainment, U.K. and producer Maurice Smith of Alien Agent Productions Inc., Canada to make two English films which is mounted on a huge canvas, in Hollywood. Both the films will star Hollywood actors and actresses and technical team and expertise. Not only this, both the projects are fully insured and time bound. The major portions of both this films is being contemplated to be shot in India. Satish Tandon will co-produce these joint ventures under his banner of Satish Tandon Visions Ltd., India.

The first film titled The Stamp Collector is being written and directed by award winning director, Francesca Di Amico. Hollywood’s top actress and Oscar winner Julie Christie plays a central role in the film which also stars award winners like Lili Taylor, Liev Schrieber and Vincent Gallo. The other cast and credits are under finalisation. Rafael Primorac, Charles M Fries and Martin J Barab will be the executive producers of this film.

The second film titled Alien Agent will be directed by Allan Goldstein. It is being written by Vlady Plish and stars Dolph Lundgreen in the title role. Three top Bollywood artistes are under finalisation for both the films.

Jagjit Singh sings for Anhonee

Producer Satish Khanna recorded a song for his Satish Khanna Productions’ Anhonee on June 1 at Sudeep Recording Studios, under the supervision of music directors Nikhil-Vinay. Penned by Sameer, the song was rendered by Jagjit Singh. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Chandrachur Singh, Shamita Shetty, Puru Raj Kumar, Anupama Verma, Alok Nath and Tinu Anand. Directed by Rishi Talwar on his own screenplay, the film is written by S Farhan and has cinematography by Anil Saigal.

Jaane Kaise Kab Kahaan

Aryan Vaid, Grasim Mr India 2000 and Mr International 2001, has been signed by writer-director Ajeitpal Mangat and producer Kosha Mangat for their Golden Temple Films (P) Ltd.’s Jaane Kaise Kab Kahaan. The film also stars Karan and introduces Tanishaa (Kajol’s sister). It has cinematography by Binod Pradhan.

Saazish ... The Game of Danger

Ripples Picture Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’s new venture Saazish ... The Game Of Danger was launched on June 9 at Rasberry’s Rhinoceros, Juhu Hotel followed by a five-day shooting spell at Moon Dust Bungalow and other Mumbai locales. Rumi Jaffrey sounded the clapper board and director Rajat Rawail directed the shot on lead stars Milind Soman and Aryan Vaid. Riya Sen plays the female lead. Rajpal Yadav also features in a pivotal role. Being written by Bholu Khan and Aman Jaffery, the film has cinematography by Surendra Rao and music by Daboo Malik. Vikram Razdan is the executive producer of this film.

Jaan Ki Baazi

Writer-producer-director Shakeel Noorani commenced another ten-day shooting spell for his Noorani Films Corporation’s Jaan Ki Baazi from June 13 at Savera Studios, Navrang Cinema and Kohinoor Hotel wherein many dramatic, emotional and thrilling scenes are being picturised on the entire cast. The films stars Sanjay Dutt, new romantic pair Attin and Nauheed Cyrusi, Ranjeet, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sachin Khedekar, Vivek Shauque, Supriya Karnik, Ehsaan Khan, Razzak Khan and Danny Denzongpa. A leading heroine is yet under finalisation. Based on a screenplay by A Muthu, the film has dialogue by Tanveer Khan, cinematography by Dinesh Telkar, action by Bhiku Verma and Pappu Verma, art by Prasanna - Yeshwant Patil, sound by SK Srivastava, editing by Sudhir Verma, lyrics by Sameer and music by Nadeem Shravan.
