Sai Baba: The miracle saint

The current trend of taking undue false pride in one’s religion amidst a turbulent social scenario has shaken the very roots of social existence. While both, the Hindu and Muslim communities are going through this social turmoil, it would not be out of place to say that the time for introspection has come, when we need to once again take a serious look at social values and relationships. The very concept of secularism and religious tolerance seems to have vanished due to faulty political policies and pro-religious groups, the root cause of the present state of affairs.

Sai Baba, is a personality of this very century who occupies a very special and dear place in the hearts of the common people, both Hindus and Muslims. Superficially, he appears to be a divine form, who was a religious propagator, a religious guru or sage, but on probing deeper into his life and work, we discover several facets of Sai Baba and new meanings to his teachings, hitherto unknown.

Neelmudra Entertainment Limited brings a new serial Sai Baba on Alpha Marathi. Sai Baba is being directed jointly by Shrabani Deodhar, famous for directing serials like Sarkarnama and Lekroo, and Debu Deodhar, ace director of photography, who has earlier directed serial Daulat. Sai Baba will give a further boost to Neelmudra’s tradition of taking up off beat subjects and boldly presenting them as meaningful and artistic creations. The director duo says, “We are confident that this will be one more feather in the cap adding value to Alpha Marathi’s commendable tradition of catering to the rich taste of its viewers and fulfiling their need for wholesome entertainment.”

Ajay Bhalvankar is the executive producer of Saibaba on behalf of Alpha Marathi while Neelmudra’s chairman Ajay Jhankar is the producer of the serial. Songs of Sai Baba have been penned by the famous writer-poet Vijay Kuwalekar and set to tune by Anand Modak. Jafar Sultan is the editor of the serial.

The serial Sai Baba depicts the emotional traverse of a lady doctor (played by Mugdha Godbole) to the way of faith that leads to Sai Baba. The serial premiered on March 21and it is telecast every Thursday, at 9.30 pm.
