Digital Magic, the postproduction company, has come up with an offer for filmmakers that a film shot for 40 days can be completed in Rs 40 lakhs which includes dubbing, editing and all other post production facilities.

Moorthy, who showed a demo film shot on digital camera, said that doing away with negative, using multi camera setup and adapting live sound, the film shooting time will be reduced and post production time would be less. Fewer lights were only needed since the camera was ultra sensitive and on digital format, it was easy to do special effects and graphics. Multilayering and color correction for song sequences will be another advantage for the directors.

Renowned director SA Chandrasekhar is likely to be the first to shoot a film in digital format, said Moorthy.
