AXN, Asia’s
undisputed 100% action-adventure channel, will conclude two reality
series, which have taken Asia and the world by storm. The finale
of Survivor Africa will premiere this Friday, January 18, with a
2-hr special from 10.00 pm to 12.00 noon, with the Survivor Africa
- Reunion immediately after wards from midnight to 1.00 am, and
rounding off with the Survivor - Back to Africa special on Friday,
January 25, from 10.00 - 11.00 pm.
Survivor Africa,
the third installment of Mark Burnett’s ratings busting series,
began on October 19, 2001 on AXN with 16 Americans descending on
Kenya’s Shaba National Reserve. Split into two tribes, Boran
and Samburu, the Survivors strategised, back-stabbed and connived
against one another in the bid to make it to the final four, who
would vie for the grand prie of US$ 1 milion dollars.
“AXN’s
reality pillar commands huge followings across Asia, with Survivor
and The Amazing Race contributing, in a big way, to the popularity
that the pillar has attained,” said Todd Miller, AXN’s
Managing Director. “The new reality series have the right mix
of action and adventure to continue our successful and popular programming
formula, giving viewers region-wide more opportunities to get the
buzz from AXN”.
On January
18th, 10 pm, the finale episode will see the four remaining Survivors
- Lex, a Marketing Manager, Kim, a retired teacher, Tom, a goat
farmer, and Ethan, a professional soccer player pit their survival
skills against one another to progress to the final round of the
game, and then hope that the jury, comprising eliminated Survivors,
will pick them tto win the million dollars.
The grand finale
of Survivor Africa promises to be fast paced, pulse-racing and entertaining
just like its preceding episodes which is the kind of entertainment
AXN is consistently striving to provide its viewers with.
