Matilda —Dec. 1, 9.30 p.m.

MatildaNot all children are born normal - especially those born out of Roald Dahl’s mind. Born into a dump of a family, Matilda (Wilson, Mrs. Doubtfire) is a surprisingly sweet and warm welcome. And a genius too. But she’ll soon learn that the world is a mean place to be. Lessons from her principal from hell, cat-kickers and her Manson-type family have taught her so. She will also discover that she has the power to change all that. Her efforts to deal with her parent’s cruelty unleash her gift of telekinesis. In the end, she will learn about love and fair play. But not before she uses her newfound powers to evict her principal, and evil, from the school premises.

Magic in the water— Dec. 4, 9.30 p.m.

Ashley and Josh go off on vacation with dad. Recently divorced, Jack’s been too busy to see his kids and thinks that the vacation will do them good. The trouble is, the kids might as well be by themselves at the lake because dad only seems interested in working on his book. But for little Ashley, it’s just a matter of time before she makes a new friend to keep her company over the vacation. The only problem is trying to convince dad and Josh that her friend Orky, a monster who, legend has it, lives in the lake-actually exists. Soon a family vacation turns into a delightful family adventure as Jack rekindles his own childhood through the eyes of his 10-year-old daughter to save Orky, who without Ashley’s help will die.

Oliver— Dec. 5, 9.30 p.m.

Some orphans have it tough. And I’m not talking about Annie. Oliver runs off to London and away from a workhouse, a life of servitude and very little food. For there, fortune awaits or so he thinks. But he lands himself with the wrong crowd, a bunch of orphan thieves taught to stay that way by their pied-piper leader, Fagin, who runs a crime school for boys. Oliver learns to steal, and after he gets caught on his first try, he realises that he’s not too good at it. Surprisingly, the man he steals from takes him off the streets and into his luxurious home in Bloomsbury. But the sleaze-of-the-streets Bill Sikes doesn’t like this rags-to-riches story, and kidnaps the young lad for his own ends. Oliver’s friends plan a heroic rescue. Winner of 8 Academy Awards, this Charles Dicken’s classic will see Oliver reunited with his very rich, very great uncle.

The Accused— Dec. 2, 9 p.m.

The AccusedPromiscuity while an invitation, is not a license to rape. And certainly not a free-for-all body buffet for three guys in a bar who like making out on pinball machines with or without consent. Sarah Tobias (Foster, The Silence Of The Lambs) is ravaged almost beyond repair and recognition by a threesome in a bar after a little pot, a little booze, a little flirting with the boys and an erotic number on the dance floor. Did she ask for it? Maybe should they get away with it? No, and neither should the guys cheering on the sidelines. And that’s what District Attorney Murphy (McGillis, Top Gun) is going to prove. But its an uphill battle, because only in America, can anything be used against you in the court of law, including your past. And Sarah has a stained past, one Murphy will try at all cost to wipe clean from the minds of the jury. And she’ll get her men. You play, you pay.
